Housing the Human, which took place from July 2018–November 2019, was an interdisciplinary collaboration of five European institutions and organizations aiming to develop methods for a practical futurology—a paradox that the project addressed by producing prototypes that could be experienced and tested.

Five selected prototypes have been realized in a one-year development and testing process.

Housing the Human works closely with an expanding network of advisors who offer guidance on the concepts.

As part of the Housing the Human Festival in Berlin, the public was invited to join an open seminar with renowned professionals centered on three defining themes: Methodological Frictions, Usefulness, and Prophecies. Download the seminar’s summary here.

Between July 2018 and November 2019, the collaborating partners provided a stage for sharing the prototypes with a broader public, and for investigating them in discussions, performances, and workshops:
